H2O Retailing, Takashimaya to partner
TOKYO - Two department store operators, H2O Retailing Corp and Takashimaya Co, said Friday they have decided to forge a business and capital alliance with an eye toward a merger in three years’ time.
Initial plans call for each firm to purchase a stake of about 10% in the other by around February 2009, and if the collaboration works out, the partners will consider merging their management.
